Freedom and Legislation
"Typical of our times is the tendency to increase the powers that officials in the countries of the West have acquired and are still acquiring every day over their fellow citizens, notwithstanding the fact that these powers are usually supposed to be limited by legislation." The NHS is a great thing in this country but it does require reform throughout. I am a regular user and I get very exasperated at the waste that goes on. Nurses need to be looking after patients as do Doctors not ticking boxes and worrying about league tables. Yes we need to monitor how well each hospital is doing but there has to be a better way than is currently being pushed by the Government. Reform is needed and we should get ideas out there as to the best way to reform it so that the vast amounts of money pumped in actually reaches the patients. Cleaning is essential and all the cleaners should be employed by the hospital and not by outside providers as it is now. There are so many little things that if reformed would make the whole system run a lot more smoothly. Also there needs to be more linked up care between departments and specialisms in order to provide the best all round care for the patient.
