The Freedom Association (TFA) – the UK’s leading libertarian pressure group – is delighted to announce that from mid-September it will have a London base on HMS President (1918).

Commenting on the decision, Simon Richards, TFA’s Director said:

“We are delighted to have secured space on this ship and cannot wait to get on board. It will be TFA’s first London office since the late 1990s and will provide the platform for our new Deputy Directors, Rory Broomfield and Dia Chakravarty, to steer TFA’s campaigns.”

Rory Broomfield added:

“This is a great opportunity to build pressure, particularly with TFA’s Better Off Out campaign.  I cannot think of a better place to launch our bid for an independent UK than from here.”

Moored in London since 1922, HMS President was completed in 1918 as an Anchusa class corvette of the Royal Navy. Commissioned as a ‘Q’ Ship (or Mystery Ship) she was disguised as a merchant ship in World War 1 to attract Germany U boats that she would then try and destroy with hidden weapons.

End.
