Internships
Internships at TFA
The Freedom Association offers Internships, – principally of 3-months’ duration, throughout the year. All age ranges may apply. Internships may take place in either of our two offices, so please specify which one you would prefer when applying. Our London office is on-board the World War I warship, HMS President (1918), moored between Temple and Blackfriars tube stations. Our reegional office is close to the centre of the elegant town of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire – half way between Birmingham and Bristol.
Our Internships are unpaid, but, in return, we go out of our way to provide an interesting and enjoyable work experience for our interns, giving them a high degree of responsibility as part of our small, friendly team. We will reimburse Zone 1 and 2 travel costs withinb London.
Our first Intern, Christiana Hambro, worked with us during the summer of 2009. On completion of her Internship we offered her a full-time position as our Development Manager – a position she held from July 2010 to July 2011. Another former Intern, Stephanie Lis, now has a full-time position with us as our Campaign Manager. While we cannot guarantee a job at the end of an Internship, the fact that we have taken on two former Interns in two years does speak for itself. Furthermore, we do our best to recommend those who have completed Internships with us to MPs and other political organisations etc. with which we are in close contact.
We welcome applications for Internships and may, in addition, be able to provide opportunities for our interns to work with MPs and MEPs etc.

“I worked for The Freedom Association for three months in 2011. During this time I wrote a wealth of opinion pieces for the website, attended several interesting talks organised by TFA and met many interesting, like-minded individuals. The highlights were attending a talk given by the Ambassador of Georgia and having the opportunity to come up with ideas for a campaign web site. TFA is a friendly and welcoming organisation to work for and open to liberty lovers from across the clichéd left-right divide. I recommend this Internship for those starting out on a career in politics who want a fun, mind-opening introduction to the industry.” - David M. Gibson (Intern at TFA: April – July 2011)
