Freedom Central 2018

INTRODUCING ‘FREEDOM CENTRAL’

‘A day of discussion and debate amongst friends on the big issues of the moment’

The Freedom Festival held in March proved most successful, with 98% of those attending giving it 4 or 5 stars in our survey afterwards. But we know that Bournemouth isn’t the easiest place to get to if you don’t live in the south of England (or even if you do!) and we also appreciate that not everybody can spare the time or the money for a two-day event, so this year we are introducing a new event, Freedom Central.

It will be held on Saturday 2nd June - Derby Day - at the Hallmark Hotel Derby Midland, Midland Road, Derby, DE1 2SQ.

Being on a Saturday, most of you will be able to attend out of work hours. Halfway between Birmingham and Sheffield and just off the M1 motorway, Derby is about as central as you can get. The hotel is directly opposite Derby Railway Station, with frequent trains to London and other major cities.

Here is the programme.

10:30 am to 11:00 am Registration, Tea/coffee with pastries etc.
11:00 am to 11:45 am HEATHER WHEELER M.P., Minister for Housing & Homelessness, in conversation with Simon Richards
11:45 am to 12:15 pm Tea/Coffee break
12:15 pm to 1:00 p.m. Local Derby: EDWARD SPALTON, Chairman of the Campaign for an Independent Britain (C.I.B.) in conversation with Simon Richards
1:00 pm to 2:15 pm Buffet lunch (in the garden, if weather permits)
2:15 pm to 3:00 pm The History Man: Why History Matters - RUPERT MATTHEWS M.E.P. in conversation with Simon Richards
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm Freedom of Movement (Title TBC) MARGOT PARKER M.E.P.
4:00 pm to 4:30 pm Tea/Coffee break with pastries etc.
4:30 pm to 5:00 pm The Investec Derby and Derby Draw sweepstake
5:00 pm to 5:45 pm Any Questions: JONATHAN BULLOCK M.E.P., RUPERT MATTHEWS M.E.P., MARGOT PARKER M.E.P. and EDWARD SPALTON, chaired by Simon Richards

There will be ample time over tea and coffee breaks and during a relaxed buffet lunch for you to talk to the guest speakers and fellow attendees. Weather permitting, you will be able to enjoy lunch and drinks in the large, attractive garden which adjoins our meeting suite.

As it’ll be Derby Day, you will be able to enter our Derby Draw sweepstake and follow the progress of your horse when we stop to watch the big race on the television in the afternoon.

The event will conclude in good time for you to travel home - or you can stay awhile for a drink in the bar afterwards, or stay overnight if you wish to.

Whether you couldn’t make it to The Freedom Festival, or whether that has whetted your appetite for another opportunity to meet like-minded pro-freedom people and to learn more and have your say on Brexit, threats to freedom and other freedom issues, don’t miss this opportunity for a great day in Derby on Derby Day. It’s great value, too!
