Nick Buckley must be reinstated as CEO of Mancunian Way

It is a sign of the times. If you don't subscribe to a left-wing, woke orthodoxy, you are beyond the pale. You shouldn't hold any role in public life, and even if you are not in public life, you should still be fired from your job. You are an outcast. You are the lowest of the low. You can't possibly criticise the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement. All they want is racial equality. What's wrong with that? There is, of course, nothing wrong with that. Indeed, it is what everyone should want. But if you delve into BLM, you discover a sinister movement which should be scrutinised.

BLM is an overtly left-wing, Marxist movement. It wants an end to the nuclear family. It wants to overthrow capitalism. It wants to abolish the Police. And we found out over the weekend that it is anti-Semitic. They are hardly middle of the road anti-racism campaigners.

Nick Buckley founded the Mancunian Way charity in 2011. He has helped thousands of disadvantaged children in Manchester (many of them from a BAME background), prevented them from getting snared by criminal grooming gangs, and was awarded an MBE for this work. In a 570-word blog, he said:

"Do you know who Black Lives Matter are? Do you know what this self-proscribed political movement wants? According to their website, they want to end white supremacy, disrupt the Western prescribed nuclear family and dismantle the patriarchal practice. These are fancy words, what do they mean?

"They are exactly what post-modern, neo-Marxists use when they call for the destruction of Western democracy and our way of life."

Cue outrage. He was accused of being a racist. According to the Daily Mail, writing on Mr. Buckley's LinkedIn page, Reece Williams, a poet who works for a mental health charity in Manchester, said: ‘Please know that we will be doing everything in our power to have you removed from your position. Expect us.’

And they went for him. A petition calling for him to be fired was launched, and days later he received an email from the trustees of the charity he founded informing him that he had been fired.

To be clear, there was nothing Mr. Buckley said that could be construed as racist. He was merely pointing out what the real agenda of BLM is. But the baying mob have once again got another scalp. Make no mistake, BLM wants to shut down free speech.

I have said before that it is the duty of the silent majority to find our collective voices and stop this nonsense. We can all start by signing this petition calling for Mr. Buckley's reinstatement as CEO of Mancunian Way. If you live in the Greater Manchester area, why not write to the Manchester Evening News? We can blog about it, and post on Facebook and Twitter. Our collective voices can be much louder than the anti-democratic, Marxist BLM.

Action this day!
